Our bags are packed, we ready to go…..
We not leavin’ on a jet plane, but we are moving 25 whole blocks away from our beloved Ballard home. We are feeling happy, sad, nostalgic, and pretty much everything else in between. Mostly, we are crazy excited to start this brand new adventure.
Now I promised y’all some “before” pictures, let’s take a look! One quick disclaimer, though: There are definitely some things about this house that are not so hot, but I still want to give major props the selling agent and the stager who worked so hard to get the house market ready!
The Living Room:
Maybe not so bad a first glance, but that 1950′s carpet is SO thick, SO old, and SO peed on. If we had smell-a-vision you’d be blown away. But I do love the fireplace and the large windows. I’m hoping that hardwood floors and paint will make this room a polished, yet relaxing living space.
The Dining Room:
I love these french doors and if you’ll notice, there’s a little peek-through window into the kitchen. I’m thinking a big round dining table, chandelier and maybe a bar cart…
Isn’t she cute?!? I love the vintage stove. It has a setting for “heavy cream sauce” and “deep fat frying”. For now we’ll need a new fridge and lighting and then we’ll see what this space wants to be.
The Powder Bath:
Yikes. This rooms a little rough. From the medicine cabinet with fluorescent side lights, to the striped wallpaper, to the faux wooden toilet seat (not shown, your welcome) – this bathroom is one hot mess. I’ll replace the toilet immediately, and then put this room out of my mind for now.
The Man Cave/Family Room:
Just try to take it all in. I’m sure in it’s hay day, this room was pretty much the bee’s knees. Justin says his first order of business is to get the wet bar in working order. We’ll have you all over for Gimlets and Sidecars.
Little Jude’s Room:
Lucky Jude get’s this Mad Med Office for his new room! Love the mid-century details.
So…yeah. This is happening. Purple vanity, purple trim, purple flower wallpaper. Not to mention the plastic brass fixtures, and navy blue OFFICE CARPET. I know. You’re jealous. And I haven’t even told you about this:
Oh, you don’t have a phone in your bathroom? I’m sorry. Maybe you don’t have to make high power business calls in the john like I do.
She has major plans for her new pad. She wants pink or red on the walls. Ouch. I told her I would try my best but we have to see what the paint man has available. And if he only has a sea foam blue color in his truck, that’s what we’ll have to do.
The Master Bedroom:
This room pretty much sold the house for me. That built in desk wraps around and has a perfect view into the backyard. I can’t wait to see my decor in here!!
It’s so adorable and full of possibilities. Bistro lights? Pergola? Yes please.
Well there she is, folks. I’ll keep you up to date on all of our progress. Wish me Luck!!!
