I’d like to think of myself as a “do it yourself” kinda gal. But, that’s mostly a lie. Don’t get me wrong, I have a lot of great DIY ideas. I just seem to be lacking in the execution department. I don’t have the patience or skill. Fortunately, I have a very sweet husband who is willing to following me wherever my DIY shenanigans might lead.
I love seeing other people’s DIY projects, especially if they are IKEA Hacks. If you are unfamiliar, an Ikea hack simply means taking an a Ikea product and putting your own creative spin on it. Here are a few of my favorite Ikea Hacks, you can click on the links to see the “how to’s”. I promise they will leave you speechless!

{Built in Closet from a PAX Wardrobe}

{Greek Key Glam from the Malm Dresser}

{Vitssjo Etagerie spray painted brass}

{Vintage Card File made from the Moppe Drawers}

{Malm Console wrapped in Wallpaper}

{Billy Bookcase turned Mod built-in Storage}

{Rektangel Vases used as glass blocks}

{Rope Mirror made from Grundtal Mirror}

{Dorothy Draper Dresser from Rast Dresser}
Anybody out there done an Ikea Hack? I’d love to hear about it!!

kp spaces is a place where I hope you can find inspiration, how to ideas, and answers to your design dilemmas. I am passionate about interior design and I hope to share some of what I have learned with all of you! Best, Keri

My favorite Ikea hack is where I “hack” up an old piece of Ikea furniture and burn it!
Reduces clutter, heats the house on cold winter days, relieves stress, and somehow makes one feel better about the distant memory of putting that piece of furniture together 3 times (2 times incorrectly and then 1 time semi-correctly but since it wasn’t worth doing it entirely correctly not bothering to re-assemble it due to frustration overload). Oh, yeah! Now THERE’S a great Ikea hack!
I love the brass spray painted bookcase. Now I want to go to ikea!!
This post is both awesome and infuriating. It officially leaves me no excuse not to have cooler stuff around my house. Love the Octopus dresser and the rope mirror. But there wasn’t one thing I didn’t like and wouldn’t welcome in my house. Though, I fear I might take the David Bishop approach when things aren’t going as I envisioned them and end up burning my Ikea project in the firepit. Just gotta start small maybe.
When I get to making over my living room, I plan on doing an ikea hack on some billy bookcases to look like built ins. Crossing my fingers they will look as good as what I’ve seen on Pinterest.
The gold shelving system and rope mirror are my favorites.
Stacey, I am excited to see your Billy’s when they are done! The ones on Pinterest are crazy beautiful.
I want to make the Moppe Drawers but I think those drawers are only sold in Europe. I’ve looked for them here and can’t find them. Anyone know where I can buy them?
Jo, I’ve been looking for the Moppe as well with no luck!! But perhaps their is something similar out there, I’ll keep looking for us…
I’m not normally a blog following person, but I love this one. Keep it up!
Hey Kiki, thanks so much for the encouragement! I really, really appreciate it!
Hi Keri,
You stopped in today looking for a settee, cocktail table, etc, and left your card. But I don’t see an email address. Will you please forward it to our email? It’s leflarltd@gmail.com. I have some great things to show you!
Thank you,
Elizabeth
